Meditation comes with a lot of benefits such as developing a sharp mind, enhancing digestion and improving memory, among others. Below are four tips on meditating regularly for seniors.

The first tip is to meditate at the same time every day. Sticking to a schedule can be hard, but once you begin, the body will soon get used to it. The best thing about meditation is that it can be done at any time and place. You can decide to incorporate it into your routine, maybe in the morning after brushing your teeth. Incorporating it into your routine will help you stick to it in the long term.

The other thing that you can do is to focus on your breathing. You should take at least five deep breaths, inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth. Doing this technique will help you to relax and slow down, hence practicing mindfulness. You will feel calmer in the process.

When meditating, your mind will be tempted to wander, and that is perfectly okay since it happens to everyone.
